The Franklin Farmer’s Market held the first Local Farmers Chili Cook-Off on March 5, 2016. Red Cedar Bison entered our Not Your Mama’s Bison Chili Recipe into the competition. Customers came from all over Middle Tennessee to Taste, Vote and Enjoy Chili prepared with meats from local farms. The Franklin Farmers market customers overwhelmingly voted Red Cedar Bison the best tasting chili of the first Local Farmers Chili Cook-Off.
We handed out copies of our recipe at the market and it is available online. Many customers asked for the recipe of the sour cream additives we had at the market as well.
Cilantro Lime Sauce
16 oz Sour Cream
1 bunch Cilantro
1 packet True Lime
Dash of Salt
1. Removed leaves from stem of cilantro.
2. Food Process cilantro with 1-2 tbsp. of sour cream.
3. Mix into the the rest of the sour cream. Add a dash of salt.
Fire Roasted Habanero Sauce
8 Habaneros
16 oz Sour Cream
Dash of Salt
1. Fire roast habaneros on grill.
2. Removed stem and seeds from roasted habanero.
2. Food Process habaneros with 1-2 tbsp. of sour cream.
3. Mix into the the rest of the sour cream. Add a dash of salt.
