Raw feeding is all the rage these days and for good reason. I (Kayla of RCB) first discovered the wonders of feeding your dog raw food when I went to the BlogPaws conference in Nashville, TN. No sooner did I start researching raw food for dogs than a customer approached our booth at the Franklin Farmers Market in need bison meat for their dog. She was seeking bison meat specifically because her dog has severe allergies to chicken and beef.
Since that day we have found many of our customers are choosing raw bison for their dogs because the dog has developed allergies to other meats, but especially beef. Some people prefer to make their own raw dog food, others have a local meat processer prepare it and still others buy it frozen.
If you want to learn more about meat allergies check out our post Red Meat Allergies.
If you are interested in moving your dog to a raw food diet you can download a free Quick Start Guide to Raw Feeding from Keep the Tail Wagging’s blog post Why Raw is Better for Dogs. Also check out Kimberly Gauthier’s Raw Feeding from A to Z . Kimberly does not specifically discuss using bison meat, but she shares important information that will help you provide a balanced raw diet for your dog.
A raw diet for dogs typically includes muscle meat, raw bones (separate of recreational bones), organ meat, raw eggs with the shells, vegetables, fruit and dairy. It may also include whole grains, but many raw feeders frown on grains.
We do not always have all the meats preferred by raw dog food feeders listed online at Red Cedar Bison, but we can give you a quote on any of your needs. What we do have listed that many raw food enthusiasts buy include: ground bison, fajita meat, bison heart, and stew meat. The common special order items include: Bison Soup Bones, Bison Thymus, Bison Spleen, Bison Oxtail, Bison Marrow Bones, Bison Spleen, Bison Liver, Bison Raw Knuckles, Bison Pancreas, Bison Kidney, Bison Adrenal, Raw Bison Shank Bones, Bison Tendons and Bison Tripe.
We also carry smoked doggie bones and bison horn caps as well.

Bison meat sounds fabulous for dogs; and the typical raw food example is healthy and appetizing for them.
