I fell in love with Mukhwas in India. I couldn’t find any consistent recipes so I headed to the spice shop and used my nose and pallet to created my own version. In India Mukhwas is an after dinner digestive aid. I keep it in my car to help satisfy my taste buds when I am driving around hungry. Fennel is often used in appetite suppressant teas and herbal mixtures.
2 Tb. Fennel Seeds
1 tsp. Sugar Coated Fennel Seeds
1 Tb. Anise Seeds
1 tsp. Sugar Candy (optional)
1 tsp. Cardamom Seeds
1 tsp. Coriander Seeds
Optional Variations
Sugared Ginger (chopped up)
Crushed Dried Rose Petals (food grade)
Directions
Mix all the ingredients together and taste. The above ratio is a suggestion. If you want to make yours sweeter add more sugar coated fennel seeds or sugar candy. If you want to make yours less sweet add more of the fennel, anise, cardamom and coriander seeds.

Enjoy! I sometimes add more or less of the different seeds to try different combos. So far I have found that you just can’t go wrong.
