I believe that everyone has a book in them. Each person has unique gifts and perspectives worthy of sharing. Everyone has a voice and something important to teach. People tell me all the time that they want to write a book someday. My question is, “What are you waiting for?”
There has never been a better time in history for you to write your book. The only things that stand between you and your published book are knowledge, self-limiting fear, excuses or not making your dreams of writing and publishing your book a priority.
The need to write How to Self-Publish: A Guide for Author-preneurs took hold of me in February 2013. I bad been involved in helping others to self-publish in 2011 and 2012, but I didn’t give much thought to writing a book about it.
After I published my fourth book, When I was Young I Flew the Sun Like a Kite, author and publisher David Sanford asked me on my Facebook page when I was going to write a book about self-publishing. My friend Donna Maria Coles Johnson of Indie Business Network also kept saying, “You need to write a book on self-publishing.”
Neither of them had ever led me wrong, so I stopped resisting their urging and published How to Self-Publish: A Guide for Author-preneurs. This year I published the second edition of it. During all this time my friend Donna Maria kept planting the idea in my head to create a program for people to learn how to be an author-preneur. Last week I asked her advice on something and she wrote back, “Group Coaching. Group Coaching. Group Coaching.”
I took her hint and launched Author-preneur Training.
