On October 5, 2012, Kayla Fioravanti published her first poetry book entitled When I was Young I Flew the Sun Like a Kite.
When I was Young I Flew the Sun as a Kite is transparently written with heart, soul and passion, carrying the reader back to childhood’s innocence, then through the darkness of an off-course life, and finally steering all of us back onto a hope-filled path of love and forgiveness.
Kayla Fioravanti is living proof that the mind of a scientist and the heart of a poet can mingle in one body. Kayla is a wife, mother and experienced author whose first three books are filled with scientific information spoken in plain English for the everyday reader. In 2011 Kayla Fioravanti published three books including: The Art, Science and Business of Aromatherapy, DIY Kitchen Chemistry and How to Make Melt & Pour Soap Base from Scratch. When I was Young I flew the Sun as a Kite is the polar opposite of her previous works, yet every bit as richly full of learning for the heart and soul.
When I was Young I Flew the Sun Like a Kite is available in paper back for $5.99 and on Kindle for $0.99 at Amazon.

Hi Kayla! I would love a signed copy of your book! I am Mark Lucero’s sister and I am so very proud of his paintings! He is amazing isn’t he? Not only that but I bought one of your mother’s paintings “Lilly Pond” She was such an amazing artist and I was thrilled to get to know her. It would mean so much to me to have a piece of Mark, a piece of Kelly (because of you) and a piece of your poetry all in one book! Please tell me I win! Congratulations on your latest publishing!

Kris,
There is already a signed copy for you in with your brother’s copy. I haven’t made it to the mailbox yet so I can change the shipping address and send it directly to you. I saw your note to him on FB and thought you would enjoy having a copy of your own.

Renee & I love “When I Was Young, I Flew the Sun Like a Kite.” The title and cover art are delightful poetry. And what a joy to read what’s inside!
Your story in the back about the artist, Mark Lucero, definitely brought smiles to our faces given how much we enjoy getting to know talented artists and spending time on Whidbey Island (we grew up nearby in Seattle).
If you and Mark decide to sell prints of the cover, definitely let us know!
